Protect what you have built.

Trademark registration and intellectual property support for UK businesses and brand owners. UK as standard, with US and EU available as an international package when you need broader protection.
WHAT IS INCLUDED

What we help with.

Trademarks, copyrights, design rights and the wider intellectual property questions that come up as a brand grows. The most common areas we cover:
  • UK trademark applications (UK Intellectual Property Office, UK IPO)
  • Trademark searches and clearance opinions before you file, so you know the risks before spending the application fee
  • Trademark renewals (every ten years)
  • Trademark oppositions and defending oppositions
  • Trademark assignments and licensing agreements
  • International protection: US trademark applications via the USPTO (through our New York attorney qualification), EU trademark applications via the EUIPO, and WIPO Madrid Protocol international applications
  • International package filings: UK plus EU plus US in a single coordinated process
  • Copyright assignments and licensing
  • Registered and unregistered design rights
  • IP assignments when a business is sold, bought or restructured
  • IP-protection and confidentiality clauses inside commercial contracts
  • Brand-protection strategy: what to file, where, and when
  • And other intellectual property matters on request

Who this is for.

  • Founders and small businesses registering a brand name, logo or product name before someone else does.
  • Established businesses adding new product lines or sub-brands and wanting them properly protected.
  • Businesses expanding to the US or EU who need international trademark protection.
  • Brand owners who have discovered a third party using their trademark without permission and want to know what to do.
  • Buyers and sellers in a business transaction where the IP side of the deal needs handling properly.
HOW IT WORKS

Our process.

01
Free 20-minute consultation
Tell us the brand, the products or services, and the markets you care about. We will tell you whether your mark is registrable, what the prospects are, and where it makes sense to file.
02
Search and clearance opinion (recommended)
Before you spend the application fee, we run a clearance search and tell you whether your mark is likely to face an opposition or a refusal. Cheaper than discovering it the hard way.
03
Application drafting and submission
We draft the specification of goods and services properly (this is where most self-filed applications go wrong), submit to the relevant office, and handle correspondence with the examiner.
04
Registration and renewal management
We track the registration through to grant and put a renewal reminder in place for ten years later. We can manage the renewal cycle for you when the time comes.
COMMON QUESTIONS

FAQs

Typically about four months from filing to registration, assuming no third-party opposition. If someone opposes during the two-month publication period, it can take significantly longer.

Registering a company at Companies House gives you the right to use that exact name as a legal entity. It does not give you the right to use the name as a brand, stop anyone else trading under a similar name, or protect a logo. Only a trademark gives you those rights, and only in the countries where it is registered.

No. You register where you actually trade or plan to trade in the foreseeable future. We will help you decide whether UK only, UK plus EU, UK plus EU plus US, or a wider international package makes sense for your business.

It depends on where, when and how. If they registered first, you may have problems registering yours. If you can show prior use, you may be able to oppose theirs or co-exist. Bring it to the free 20-minute call and we will give you an honest assessment.

Yes, US federal trademarks at the USPTO are within our scope through our New York attorney qualification. For disputes before the US Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), we work alongside specialist US trademark attorneys from our network.
